Fall River is 1-9 against Etna since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bulldogs will square off against the Lions at 2:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Having struggled with 13 losses in a row, Fall River turned things around against Burney on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Raiders. The Bulldogs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 7th (when they won 13-2).

Jacob Casper was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Coefield, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fall River kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Etna, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Lost River with a sharp 11-1 win on Monday. Considering the Lions have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Chance Perez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Perez was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Hubbard, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Emmett Stacher, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
Etna pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Fall River, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-13.
Fall River suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Etna in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
