Spring Lake Park's Eji Ejiya recorded the longest rushing play in North Suburban this season in his game against Robbinsdale Cooper last week. Ejiya's team beat the Hawks as he sprinted for 66 yards on the play and finished with 233 in all.
Spring Lake Park extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Robbinsdale Cooper, 32-16. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
The Panthers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Austin Swenson threw for 12 yards and Justin Axelson had 12 yards receiving.
On the ground, Spring Lake Park's Ejiya has rushed for 518 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Axelson. The Spring Lake Park star has two catches for 27 yards.
A big matchup in North Suburban this week will be when Benilde-St. Margaret's takes on Irondale. The Red Knights are currently in seventh, while the Knights are in second.
North Branch moved up to 213 from 270 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 42-22 win over the Vikings helped the Vikings improve their standing.
