The South Tahoe Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Wooster Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully South Tahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, South Tahoe came up short against the Panthers and fell 59-46. South Tahoe has struggled against the Panthers recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, South Tahoe had strong showings from Campbell Mathews, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, and Addie Menke, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Menke has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Wooster waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 49-21 victory over Hug on the road.
South Tahoe's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Wooster, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season.
Everything went South Tahoe's way against the Colts in their previous matchup back in January as the Vikings made off with a 66-44 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Tahoe since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
