Basketball Recap: Fall River Comes Up Short

After flying high against Central Valley last Monday, Fall River came back down to earth. The Fall River Bulldogs took a blow against the Shasta Wolves on Thursday, falling 66-39. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 591st, while the Wolves are ranked 48th).

Fall River's loss came despite strong showings from Reese Cassity and Allison Osborne. Cassity posted 23 points, while Osborne dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Osborne is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shasta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cali Soule, who had 18 points. The dominant performance gave Soule a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Carlie Kenyon, who earned 14 points.

Fall River's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Shasta, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Fall River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-46 defeat against West Valley on the 13th. As for Shasta, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-48 victory against Foothill on the 13th.
