Shaler Area is 10-0 against the River Hawks since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Shaler Area Titans will be playing at home against the Armstrong River Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Shaler Area will be looking to keep their 11-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Friday, Shaler Area strolled past the Indians with points to spare, taking the game 52-38. Given Shaler Area's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Indians are ranked 66th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Armstrong's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They suffered a tough 61-36 defeat at the hands of Fox Chapel. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Armstrong has scored all season.
Shaler Area's win bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Armstrong, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
Shaler Area beat the River Hawks 73-62 when the teams last played back in January. Will Shaler Area repeat their success, or do the River Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
