After four games on the road, Watsonville is heading back home. They will take on the King City Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Watsonville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 41-35 to King's Academy. Watsonville has struggled against King's Academy recently, as their match on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Stephanie Martinez, who scored 9 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Isabella Love was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, King City took a serious blow against Alisal on Tuesday, falling 83-25. King City was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-10.
Their wins bumped Watsonville to 2-2 and King's Academy to 3-2.
Everything came up roses for Watsonville against King City when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 68-34 win. Will Watsonville repeat their success, or does King City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
