The Berry Cardinal's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 48-23 walloping at the hands of Palisades. Berry lost against Palisades in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 44-42 score last time.
Palisades was led to victory by Carli Chavis and Brooklyn Young. Chavis scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals, while Young dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Young has scored at least 25% of Palisades' points. Meyah Brown was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 13 rebounds.
Berry's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Palisades, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Berry will be playing at home against South Mecklenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Mecklenburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Berry in North Carolina (South Mecklenburg is ranked 235th, while Berry is ranked 492nd). As for Palisades, they will head out on the road to face off against Myers Park at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
