The Sharpsville Blue Devils will be home for the holidays to greet the Redbank Valley Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Sharpsville can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against Greenville by a score of 42-33. That 42-33 margin sets a new team best for Sharpsville this season.
Sharpsville can attribute much of their success to Macie Steiner, who scored 13 points, and Savannah Hassan, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Hassan scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Ramsey, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Redbank Valley put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 48-47 win over Karns City. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Redbank Valley has scored all season.
Sharpsville's victory bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Redbank Valley, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Sharpsville beat Redbank Valley 63-51 in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. Does Sharpsville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Redbank Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
