The Wakefield Trojans lost against the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Wakefield took a 44-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears. Wakefield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rena Rasmussen, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Eriksen, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.
Wakefield has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Wakefield will be playing at home against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Winnebago is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lutheran-Northeast will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Bears are ranked 84th).
