Port Allegany is 10-0 against Oswayo Valley since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Port Allegany Gators will be home for the holidays to greet the Oswayo Valley Green Wave at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Port Allegany focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Monday.
On Monday, Port Allegany earned a 42-32 win over Northern Potter.
Port Allegany's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kayleigha Dowell led the charge by scoring 17 points along with six rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Moses, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Oswayo Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 41-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coudersport.
Port Allegany's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Oswayo Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-2.
Port Allegany was able to grind out a solid victory over Oswayo Valley when the teams last played back in February, winning 41-28. Does Port Allegany have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oswayo Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
