After low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Santa Maria brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They never let the Orcutt Academy Spartans get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Saints have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Julius Medina made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan Medina, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bryce Alejo, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Santa Maria was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orcutt Academy only posted a batting average of .056.

Santa Maria's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-6. As for Orcutt Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Santa Maria will have a chance to go back-to-back against Orcutt Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
