The Valencia Vikings will face off against the Castaic Coyotes at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Valencia made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Saugus, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Valencia was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Saugus on Friday. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Vikings this season.

Noah Jaquez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, Cole DeYoung was a standout: he scored two runs while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Francisco Velazquez Jr, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Valencia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Castaic entered their tilt with Foothill Tech on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Dragons get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.
Gio Foster looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk).
On the hitting side, Castaic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chad Kober, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Chris Cailotto was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Valencia's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-6. As for Castaic, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
Valencia came up short against Castaic in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 6-1. Can Valencia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
