The Redan Raiders will venture away from home to square off against the Tucker Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Redan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Redan's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past South Atlanta 28-0. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won four in a row.
Kenneth Barge looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
Redan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, Tucker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of Druid Hills. Even if the Tigers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Tucker got a massive performance out of True McNay, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Blake Samuda, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Tucker's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Redan, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Redan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Tucker struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Redan's way against Tucker in their previous matchup back in February of 2017, as Redan made off with a 13-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
