The Cambridge Springs Devils managed to keep up with the Cochranton Cardinals until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Cambridge Springs suffered a rough 49-28 loss at the hands of Cochranton. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Cambridge Springs of the 44-31 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Cochranton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shelby Mcbryar, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Eve Pfeiffer was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Cambridge Springs' defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Cochranton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-9.
Cambridge Springs will head out on the road to challenge Union City at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cochranton, they will be playing at home against Maplewood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Maplewood will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Cochranton surely won't give up without a fight.
