Edison has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Madera South Stallions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Edison is ranked 254th, while Madera South is ranked 256th).
Last Tuesday, everything went Edison's way against McLane as Edison made off with a 49-27 victory.
Edison got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Paige Hamilton out in front who scored 19 points along with 6 assists and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Hamilton has scored at least 25% of Edison's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aireanna Jennings, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Madera South, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-29 loss to Immanuel on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Madera South in their matchups with Immanuel: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite their defeat, Madera South saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. BRIANNAH LORTA, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. The contest was LORTA's sixth in a row with at least ten points. MAYRILIN VASQUEZ was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Edison's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. As for Madera South, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Edison strolled past Madera South in their previous meeting on November 14th by a score of 46-32. Does Edison have another victory up their sleeve, or will Madera South turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
