Pierce and Paradise are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Bears will challenge the Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Pierce will be strutting in after a victory while Paradise will be coming in after a defeat.
While Pierce's win against Colusa wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bears skirted past the RedHawks 6-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Colin Dye and Connor Harris were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Dye struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Harris tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Dye a new career-high. At the plate, Dye earned one run and three stolen bases, while Harris went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Murphy, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Jimmy Anderson was another, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Paradise's offense. They came up short against Winters on Friday, falling 7-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Bobcats were not able to get on the board.
Paradise has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Pierce, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 5-16.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Pierce has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Paradise struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Pierce couldn't quite get it done against Paradise in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 7-4. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
