The Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits pushed their score all the way to 65 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lynwood. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (59), Long Beach Poly still had to take the loss.
Loss or not, Long Beach Poly got some senior leadership from Andrea Perkins and Brooklyn Taylor. Perkins scored 18 points along with two steals, while Taylor. scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and six blocks. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last six times she's played.
Long Beach Poly's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Lynwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season.
Long Beach Poly will be playing at home against Woodrow Wilson at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Woodrow Wilson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 657th, while Long Beach Poly is ranked 88th). As for Lynwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Gahr at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
