Norcross hasn't had much luck against Brookwood recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Norcross will welcome Brookwood at 5:55 p.m. Norcross has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Norcross is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Wednesday. They lost 11-0 to North Gwinnett. The shutout was out of character for the Blue Devils seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.
Meanwhile, Brookwood came tearing into Tuesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Hawks. That's two games straight that the Broncos have won by exactly ten runs.
Max Rogozinski was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other pitching news, Dylan Larsen and Joe Soto dominated on the mound. Larsen tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Soto pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Soto hasn't allowed a single hit since back in February.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Boomer Rogozinski, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Carson Tulles, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Brookwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .516 or higher in seven consecutive games.
Brookwood's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Norcross, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.
Norcross couldn't quite get it done against Brookwood in their previous matchup back in April of 2019 as they fell 4-1. Will Norcross have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
