They claimed a resounding 82-45 victory over San Luis Obispo on the road. Oxnard's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Oxnard's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kayla Lumas led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Lumas has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Oliver, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
Oxnard's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. As for San Luis Obispo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.
Oxnard won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Poway at 7:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Poway will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. San Luis Obispo will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mission Oak at 4:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
