The Westlake Chaparrals put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Austin 65-14 on the road. The result was nothing new for Westlake, who have now won five matches by 47 points or more so far this season.
Grady Bartlett was on fire: he rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Stephen Fuqua got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Westlake's victory was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37 points. As for Austin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Westlake will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bowie at 7:30 p.m. Bowie will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 357th, while Westlake is ranked 13th). As for Austin, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Travis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
