The Cozad Haymakers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They snuck past Hershey with a 37-31 win. That's another feather in the cap for Cozad, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Cozad to victory were Olliver Davis and Noah Shoemaker. Davis scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds, while Shoemaker scored 16 points along with 9 rebounds.
Cozad's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Hershey, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cozad will take on Valentine at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Valentine has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hershey, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Patrick's on Saturday. One thing working in St. Patrick's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
