Softball Recap: Alameda Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Alameda's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Jefferson Saints as they made off with a 20-8 win. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Alameda got a massive performance out of Peyton Trujillo, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kristell Guerra, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs.

Alameda kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.6.

Alameda has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Jefferson, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alameda will head out to challenge Kennedy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Jefferson, they will venture away from home to face off against Bennett at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
