Shiloh Christian is 0-1 against Bishop Ryan since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Shiloh Christian Skyhawks will be playing at home against the Bishop Ryan Lions at 2:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Shiloh Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 52 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past Beulah, posting a 42-8 win at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.
Shiloh Christian relied on the efforts of Michael Fagerland, who rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and Isaac Emmel, who rushed for 101 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries. Fagerland was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. Eli Thompson did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 84 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, after only 12 points in their last game, Bishop Ryan made sure to put some points up on the board against Nedrose on Thursday. Bishop Ryan simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Nedrose 38-7 on the road.
Shiloh Christian's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-6 Heart River co-op [Belfield/South Heart] and 2-6 Killdeer (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.7% over those games). As for Bishop Ryan, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Shiloh Christian came up short against Bishop Ryan when the teams last played back in October of 2020, falling 19-7. Can Shiloh Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
