Thomas Walker had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 36-27 win over the Cumberland Gap Panthers on Friday. The Pioneers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Clay Cheek threw for 49 yards and one TD. Jordan Fraser was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards. On the ground, Lincoln Munsey rushed for 203 yards while picking up 8.8 yards per carry.

Perhaps the best among them was Benson Hensley, who picked up 133 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another passer making a difference was Kole Carter, who threw for 218 yards and three TDs on only 17 passes.

Cumberland Gap's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
