Given Marian Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Shenandoah Valley is ranked 399th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marian Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carley Hasara, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hasara has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Fritz, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Marian Catholic pushed their record up to 17-2 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Shenandoah Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marian Catholic will take on Weatherly at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Weatherly has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2. As for Shenandoah Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Tri-Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
