Pitman is 10-0 against Modesto since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Pitman Pride will head out on the road to face off against the Modesto Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Pitman pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 63-55 to Gregori. Pitman has struggled against Gregori recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Pitman got a solid performance out of Dailynn Greener, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Greener is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Elizabeth Webb was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Modesto, who are still winless after their 13th contest. They took a serious blow against Gregori on Thursday, falling 70-25. While losing is never fun, Modesto can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1301st, while Gregori is ranked 422nd).
Pitman's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Modesto, they dropped their record down to 0-13 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Pitman against Modesto when the teams last played on January 9th as the squad secured a 68-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pitman since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
