Oswayo Valley is 1-9 against Port Allegany since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Oswayo Valley Green Wave will head out on the road to face off against the Port Allegany Gators at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Oswayo Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Smethport, taking the game 42-33. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Oswayo Valley.
Meanwhile, Port Allegany entered their tilt with Austin with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Port Allegany enjoyed a cozy 54-35 win over Austin on Monday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Port Allegany to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brynn Evens, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Evens has scored all season. Kayleigha Dowell was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Oswayo Valley has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Port Allegany, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Oswayo Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Port Allegany when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 34-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oswayo Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
