Benson and Westview are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2022, but not for long. The Bunnies are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against the Wolverines at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Westview will be up against a hot Benson team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Bunnies blew past Burke 65-28 on Saturday. The Bunnies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Benson's success was spearheaded by the efforts of McKenzie Lewis, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 18 rebounds, and J'Lynn Chatmon-Flakes, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 21 points along with six steals and five boards. Lewis continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Obree Gay also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.
Benson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Westview over Omaha Northwest in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Wolverines blew the Huskies out of the water with an 85-31 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-20.
Benson better focus on containing Stella Williams and Kalyn Bailey as the pair were huge in Westview's win. Williams went 6-for-8 en route to 16 points, while Bailey shot 64% from the field on her way to 17 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Williams a new career-high in assists (four). Sahler Smith was another key player, putting up 13 points.
Benson's record is now 4-0. As for Westview, their record now sits at 3-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Benson has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 38 boards per game. However, it's not like Westview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Benson was dealt a bruising 77-42 loss at the hands of Westview in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can the Bunnies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
