Fremont is 0-3 against Sotomayor since February of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Pathfinders will face off against the Wolves at 1:00 p.m. Fremont is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Fremont barely beat Mendez the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pathfinders put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 10-2 win on Wednesday. Ten seems to be a good number for the Pathfinders as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Jahdiel Roberts, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Diego Maldonado was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Sotomayor had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 5-2.
Trevor Montellano was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. Montellano was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two RBI.
In other batting news, Sebastian Mejia was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.
The win made it two in a row for Fremont and bumps their season record up to 9-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Sotomayor, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fremont has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Sotomayor struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Fremont couldn't quite finish off Sotomayor in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Pathfinders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
