Grant had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out the Muskegon Catholic Central Crusaders 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since October 26, 2024.

Bouwkamp Payton paced Grant's offense, picking up ten kills. Payton got some help from Longcore Emma and her 27 assists. Payton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Grant will face off against Hastings at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Muskegon Catholic Central, they will take on Fremont at 9:00 p.m. on Friday.
