The Rio Linda Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 55-10 win over Valley. Considering Rio Linda has won four matchups by more than 24 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Rio Linda to victory were Mariah Walton and Kyrri Mitchell. Walton scored 14 points, while Mitchell scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and seven steals. Mitchell also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Savannah Grant, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds.
Rio Linda's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Valley, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Rio Linda will face off against East Nicolaus at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. Hopefully East Nicolaus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. Valley will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Amador at 8:30 p.m. on December 14th. Amador is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
