Mountain View won against Skyline last Friday with 56 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Mountain View Toros blew past the Cibola Raiders 56-36. The Toros have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Emma Fischbeck continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 12 of 21 en route to 29 points along with seven boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Roxy Del Bianco was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to eight assists and four steals.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mariana Vega, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Vega is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last 14 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaida Bosch, who posted seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Mountain View's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. As for Cibola, they moved to 12-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Mountain View will challenge Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Westwood likes a good challenge. As for Cibola, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 89-16 win against San Luis on the 16th.
