In what's become a running theme this season, the Farmersville Aztecs gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They put the hurt on Summit Charter Collegiate Academy with a sharp 52-27 victory. The victory was nothing new for Farmersville as they're now sitting on three straight.
Farmersville was led to victory by Jazmaine Stewart and Janessa Garza. Stewart scored 17 points along with eight steals and six rebounds, while Garza dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Stewart is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Estrella Valencia, who scored six points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Despite the loss, Summit Charter Collegiate Academy saw an underclassman step up: Evonie Mendoza scored seven points along with three steals.
Farmersville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.
Farmersville will head out on the road to challenge the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wonderful College Prep Academy has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 13.
