Basketball Recap: Segerstrom Skates Past Edgewood with Ease

Segerstrom had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Edgewood Lions 57-10. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Segerstrom to victory, but perhaps none more so than Claudia Solis, who went 9 for 19 on her way to 20 points and four steals. Solis' afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamila Floris, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Segerstrom smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 15 consecutive games.

Segerstrom's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Edgewood, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Segerstrom and Santa Fe will face off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Santa Fe's defense has only allowed 23.5 points per game this season, so Segerstrom's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Edgewood, they and Upland will face off at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
