The Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. Their tough 75-49 loss to St. Anthony might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Capistrano Valley Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Saints are ranked 21st).
St. Anthony got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anaya Tunu out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tunu has scored all season. Ryann Bennett was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Capistrano Valley Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season. As for St. Anthony, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-7.
Capistrano Valley Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Anthony will head out on the road to square off against the Swordsmen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Paul is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
