The Sierra Vista Dons can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Azusa as Sierra Vista made off with a 47-25 victory. The victory was familiar territory for Sierra Vista who now have five in a row.
Sierra Vista's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zaira Eulloque, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Cailei Buna was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and three steals.
Several Aztecs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lilliana Maldonado, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Evelin Villalva, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Azusa struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Sierra Vista racked up 12 assists.
Sierra Vista pushed their record up to 13-10 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Azusa, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
Sierra Vista will take on the Nobles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Azusa, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Lobos at 5:30 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses for Workman and three for the Aztecs.
