The Pottsgrove Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 59-33 loss at the hands of Boyertown. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Pottsgrove has suffered against Boyertown since January 19, 2016.
Pottsgrove lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aleah Rockemore, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Rockemore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jessica Carroll, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Pottsgrove struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Boyertown posted 11 assists.
Madelyn Weaver was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Engler, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Pottsgrove has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Boyertown, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.
Pottsgrove and Pottstown will face off at 6:45 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pottstown comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Boyertown, they will head out on the road to challenge Owen J. Roberts at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
