Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount Airy). They took down the Starmount Rams 76-57 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Granite Bears also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Bryson Taylor had a dynamite game for Mount Airy, going 10 for 14 on his way to 21 points. Taeshon Martin was another key player, putting up five points along with eight assists and five boards.

Mount Airy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Starmount only pulled down seven offensive boards.

Ryley Rodriguez and Corey Armstrong certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Rodriguez went 8 of 16 on his way to 23 points and eight rebounds, while Armstrong dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Armstrong a new career-high in points.

The win got Mount Airy back to even at 5-5. As for Starmount, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Mount Airy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-49 loss against East Surry on the 8th. As for Starmount, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 76-34 defeat against Elkin on the 9th.
