In Tuesday's league test, the Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC), by a score of 74-57.

Next, the Granite Bears encounter the East Surry Cardinals (Pilot Mountain, NC) in a non-league test, on Wednesday, January 8. Mount Airy will attempt to improve on its 5-5 season record. The Cardinals come into the test with a 4-6 record after their 76-49 league win over Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC).
