Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lutheran South). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the North Callaway Thunderbirds on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lancers have posted since October 9, 2024.

The victory got Lutheran South back to even at 2-2-1. As for North Callaway, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-4 record.

Coming up, Lutheran South will take on DeSoto at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Dragons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Lancers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for North Callaway, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-0 loss against Liberty North on the 13th.
