Baseball Recap: Stockdale Sets Scoring Season-High Against Ridgeview

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stockdale). They put the hurt on the Ridgeview Wolf Pack with a sharp 13-1 win on Friday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Wolf Pack recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Owen Hill made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Gabriel Borja looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Charlie Ryder was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Cooper Eberly was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Stockdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.

Stockdale pushed their record up to 16-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Ridgeview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

Stockdale will be playing in front of their home fans against Centennial at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Hawks will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ridgeview, they are taking a road trip to face off against Bakersfield at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wolf Pack are facing the Drillers at the right time seeing as the Drillers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
