The Jordan Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 31 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Carson 65-28 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-11.
Asia Edwards continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The matchup was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bryanna Moran, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Carson still got an impressive performance from Faith Woodson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Woodson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Carson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jordan will square off against Millikan at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Carson, they will head out on the road to face off against West at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Carson in California (West is ranked 168th, while Carson is ranked 487th).
