The Ridgeview Wolf Pack will square off against the Arroyo Grande Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.
Ridgeview made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Garces Memorial, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wolf Pack fell just short of the Rams by a score of 6-4 on Saturday. The loss put an end to the Wolf Pack's undefeated start to the season.
Edwin Hidalgo and Gabriel Stevens did some serious damage despite the final result: Hidalgo went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Stevens went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Arroyo Grande was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They fell just short of Santa Barbara by a score of 4-2. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.
Arroyo Grande also got a good showing from Zach Johnson, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Johnson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Arroyo Grande saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Ralph, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Anders Winter also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Ridgeview fell to 2-1. As for Arroyo Grande, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Ridgeview hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Arroyo Grande struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Ridgeview skirted past Arroyo Grande 5-3 when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Will the Wolf Pack repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
