Northwest Rankin took down Forest Hill 66-50. Given Northwest Rankin's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Forest Hill is ranked 134th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lashunjnea Jones had an outrageously good game as she scored 33 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Airiana Jones, who scored 15 points.
The win got Northwest Rankin back to even at 9-9. As for Forest Hill, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Northwest Rankin will head out on the road to face off against Lanier at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Forest Hill, they will be playing at home against Pearl River Central at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Pearl River Central is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
