The South Tahoe Vikings gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They took down Carson 60-44. This was payback for South Tahoe, who suffered a 50-19 loss the last time these two teams met.
Campbell Mathews was the offensive standout of the match as she dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Samantha Robinson, who scored 11 points along with 9 assists and 7 steals.
South Tahoe's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Carson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
South Tahoe will take on Reno at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carson, they will square off against Portola at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
