The Mira Mesa Marauders will be staying on the road  on Friday to face off against the San Diego Cavers at 6:00  p.m.  on January 26th. San Diego took a loss in their last  contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mira Mesa, who comes in off a win.
 Last Friday, Mira Mesa beat Patrick Henry 50-39.
  Ivorii Seals continued  her habit of posting crazy stat lines,  scoring 24 points along with seven  steals and two  blocks. That makes it nine consecutive games in which  she has scored at least a third of Mira Mesa's points. Another player making a difference was  Alyssa Otero, who  scored 15 points along with five  rebounds and two  steals.
 Meanwhile, San Diego was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap  on Friday as they fell  44-40 to Point Loma.
 Despite their  loss, San Diego saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Shanti Glenn, who  scored 11 points along with three  steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mackenzie Nitzel, who  scored five points along with 16  rebounds and four  blocks.
 Mira Mesa is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine contests,  which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for San Diego, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
This contest  is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor:  Mira Mesa  have been smashing the glass this season,  having  only  averaged 27.1  rebounds per game. It's a different story for San Diego, though, as  they've been averaging  only 41.8  rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
 Mira Mesa beat San Diego 50-37  in their previous matchup  on January 5th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mira Mesa since the  team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
