The Lake Central Indians extended their postseason success on Friday against the Gary West Side Cougars. They blew past the Cougars 73-8 on the road. Lake Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12  contests by 23  points or more this season.
 Lake Central's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Kennedie Burks, who  scored 17 points along with three  steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Burks has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Vanessa Wimberly, who  scored eight points along with five  assists and five  steals.
 Lake Central is  on a roll lately: they've  won ten of their last 11 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. As for Gary West Side,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-18.
 Lake Central won't have much time to rest: their next  matchup is against the Pirates at 6:00  p.m.  on February 3rd. Both teams are coming into the  contest red-hot, with Merrillville sitting on  seven straight  wins and the Indians on five. Gary West Side does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
