The LaCrosse Leopards will square off against the Wichita County Indians on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, LaCrosse put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-44 win over Quinter. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Leopards with their most commanding win of the season.

LaCrosse's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Rush, who rushed for 138 yards while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Rush is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 102 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Lee Holopirek, who rushed for 71 yards and three TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: LaCrosse was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 289 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 155 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
LaCrosse didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Rush, Tyron Steinert, and Holopirek picked up one apiece. Rush got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wichita County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Ness City 82-14. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won three matchups by 48 points or more so far this season.
LaCrosse better keep an eye on Cashton Young. He was instrumental in Wichita County's win, rushing for 73 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 147 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. What's more, Young racked up 161.9 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.
LaCrosse now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Wichita County, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. LaCrosse has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 226.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wichita County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 226 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
LaCrosse took a serious blow against Wichita County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 70-6. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Leopards were down 70-6.
