After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Shafter, Wasco was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 46-37 victory over the McFarland Cougars. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wasco to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vianey Velasquez, who posted 12 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelynn Juarez, who earned six points in addition to eight boards and six steals.
Despite the loss, McFarland still got an impressive performance from Mia Samaniego, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Samaniego has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
