The Alta Loma Braves will take on the Lawndale Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Alta Loma is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 victory over Glendale. The win was familiar territory for the Braves, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Alta Loma found their leader in freshman Britain Hall, who went 7-for-13 from beyond the arc en route to 40 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hall has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Geary, who posted two points in addition to six steals and five boards.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lawndale, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Santa Monica out 34-32. The 34-point effort marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Alta Loma better keep an eye on Telayia Fuller. She was instrumental in Lawndale's win, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Fuller is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last five games she's played.
Lawndale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 26 consecutive contests.
Lawndale pushed their record up to 21-8 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points over those games. As for Alta Loma, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.
Keep an eye on the arc in Saturday's match: Alta Loma has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 36.2% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Lawndale, though, as they've only made 20.8% of their three-pointers this season. Given Alta Loma's sizable advantage in that area, Lawndale will need to find a way to close that gap. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
